- Primary role as Head Student Athletic Therapist of the TMU Men's Basketball Team- Serve all on-field and in-clinic roles for my team- Ensure optimal execution of all required competencies of Athletic Therapist (Prevention, Assessment, Intervention, Practice Management, Professional Responsibility)- Prevention: Application of prophylactic measures (taping, bracing), collaboration with Integrated Support Team (S&C Coaches, Coaching Staff, Athletic Therapists) on proper program design, and ensuring proper equipment selection to minimize athletic injuries.- Assessment: Ensuring up-to-date knowledge of clinically relevant assessment tools, and ensuring proper execution of these tools (eg. special tests, palpation, fitness testing). Ensuring adequate recognition of on-field emergent injuries, and concussion-related injuries.- Intervention: Execution of standard procedure for emergent situations, rehabilitative therapies (electrical, thermal, mechanical modalities) to facilitate recovery, function and/or performance, Administration of therapeutic and conditioning exercise using both standard and advanced techniques and procedures to facilitate recovery, function and/or performance either pre- or post-injury or surgical intervention, as well as for general illnesses or conditions related to the musculoskeletal system.- Practice Management: Use an information management system to maintain appropriate medical records/documentation to comply with accepted best practice guidelines- Professional Responsibility: Following of standard policies and procedures, working within scope of practice, proper medical record-keeping
