Professor Wing Lam is the Executive Dean of Bangor College China and Director of International Relations at Bangor University. She is a multi-award winning entrepreneur-turned academic who has won awards in the categories of leadership, teaching and research. Prior to joining Bangor University, Wing was the Director of the China Centre at Chester University, where she won the Educate North International Partnership Award in 2019 for the international partnerships that she led and the revenue that generated. Prior to Chester, she was at Durham University, where she won the Business School’s Innovation in Teaching and Learning Award for 2015. Before pursuing an academic career, Professor Lam spent nearly ten years in commerce (international trading, consultancy and internal auditing) in her native Hong Kong. Her international industrial and academic background help to shape her down-to-earth approach to her academic career. Aiming to bridge the gap between the academic community and the business world, Wing has been actively involved in research and outreach activities which emphasise both practical and theoretical values. Wing’s research interests include innovation & entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial finance and crowdfunding, entrepreneurial learning, female entrepreneurship and family business. She has published widely and has won several best paper awards as a single-author and co-author.
