I have been working in the Marriage and Family Therapy field for several years now. I am finishing up a Graduate Certificate in Autism Spectrum Disorder with Arizona State University. I hold two graduate degrees in education as well as a Masters in Marriage and Family therapy from a COAMFTE accredited program. I specialize in trauma; however, since my son's diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder in 2019, I have been voraciously learning about ways we might reduce some of the symptoms which adversely affect his life. As we maneuvered our way around the world of Autism, we found treatments which have reduced our son's symptoms of Autism drastically. A year after his school district listed his cognition level in the first percentile, our son now qualifies for inclusion preschool and we are confident he will begin kindergarten with his Neurotypical counterparts. As a therapist, a Mom and someone who clearly values education, I have found several ways symptom reduction may be possible and I have chosen to start my own practice in order to help other parents like myself. Many have asked me what Autism, ADHD And Trauma have in common. While they may seem like very different issues, the fact is there is a lot of misdiagnosis between these three as symptoms in each area overlap. At I Am Not the Problem Counseling and Wellness Center we are uniquely positioned to help clients reduce symptoms using special nutrition and wellness programs, counseling techniques (including EMDR) and Neurofeedback.There are options out there. As someone who has specialized in trauma therapies for almost ten years, I'm excited to find new ways to help my clients find relief and to help an entire new group of individuals find similar relief.
