I am thrilled to be a part of the FLA Advocacy and Legislative Committee, and enjoyed attending Library Legislative Day in Tallahassee in March 2023. Chair of Committee for 2023-2024 year.

I oversee more than one hundred volunteers, ranging in age from young teens to early nineties. I also assist with Circulation, and ensure that the volunteers have what they need to succeed at PHL.

I worked at the combined Circulation/Reference Desk at this small but mighty community library. I offered Reference and Reader's Advisory help, as well as assistance with the library's electronic offerings.

I worked at both the Reference and Connection Desks in the Adult Services Department at the Lisle Library District. I assisted patrons with reference and readers’ advisory questions, and helped with their portable technology devices, including various e-media platforms. Additionally, I managed the library’s Home Delivery program with over 70 patrons and supervising three volunteers. I also performed Collection Development in several areas of the Adult non-fiction collection, including Large Print, music CDs, and Music Scores. I managed seven monthly and two ongoing displays in both the Adult and Youth Services departments, and assisted where needed with Curbside Pickup programs for library materials and craft kits. I also worked closely with our Digital Outreach Team on social media posts. I utilized the Polaris ILS, as well as Baker & Taylor, Ingram, and CD Source ordering platforms.

I performed various duties at this small public library, including Circulation Desk duties, Adult and Youth Reference Desk and Reader’s Advisory. I assisted patrons of all ages in the selection of proper and relevant library materials, including both print and online resources. I utilized the Polaris ILS.

Working in the Technical Services department of a large community college, I performed copy and original cataloging on audiovisual materials, including streaming videos, in the MARC format using OCLC Connexion and Voyager. I also processed and repaired audiovisual materials with the assistance of a student aide and assisted Collection Development with identification of relevant audiovisual materials. I was also active on the Library Marketing Committee and assisted in the creation of multimedia Reader's Guides on the Library's website.

My responsibilities included circulation desk operation, shelf-reading, supervision of students in the library and computer lab, information technology support, acquisition of new materials, creating displays, cataloging and processing of library materials, catalog maintenance, assisting patrons and staff in selection of proper and relevant materials, and assisting faculty and staff with print and electronic materials to supplement class work in the computer lab.

As a Library Aide, my responsibilities included circulation desk operation, shelf-reading, supervision of students, cataloging and processing of library materials, creating displays, assisting library patrons in selection of proper and relevant materials, information technology support, and training and assisting Student Aides. I was also an Assistant Speech Team Coach for RTHS.

I alternated between Polo High School and Centennial Elementary during the school year. My responsibilities included circulation desk operation, shelf-reading, cataloging and processing of library materials, creating displays, assisting library patrons in selection of proper and relevant materials, and information technology support. I was also a Reading Aide at Centennial and a Director's Assistant in the Drama Club at the High School.

As a Cataloging Assistant with the division of the Follett Corporation that supplies audiovisual materials for public and school libraries, I conducted research and created original MARC records for audiovisual products, specializing in CDs and DVDs. I gained experience with OCLC, and learned LC, Dewey and ANSCR classification. I also customized existing catalog records for large metropolitan libraries, created labels for products for processing orders, and maintained various databases for these libraries.
