The system’s electromagnetic array consists of twelve electromagnets in a unique configuration for intelligent guidance and propulsion of a magnetically-formed Pillcam, enabling a gastroenterologist to precisely and consistently control a wireless camera pill and other surgical tools in the digestive system. Lead a team of 3 engineers in the project. Received or published 1 patent.

Responsible for research and development of Pharmaco-Kinesis Corporation's Smart Local Drugs Delivery System. Lead a team of 5 engineers that developed PKC's flagship Metronomic Biofeedback Pump from concept to beta prototype. MBP is a smart implantable infusion pump to deliver chemotherapy locally to a tumor location, i.e., brain metastases. Variation of MBP prototypes have been tested in animal studies and the Beta is currently undergoing design validation for ISO 13485 certification.Received or published 8 patents.

My research involved developing intelligent wireless sensor systems for wireless health monitoring and life-style coaching of patients. I collaborated with researchers from UCLA School of Engineering, School of Medicine, the Santa Monica VA Hospital, and UCLA Center for Embedded Networked Sensing. This successful collaboration led to the establishment of UCLA Wireless Health Institute.

My research involved design and implementation of wearable medical devices and body sensor networks. I also developed signal processing algorithms to achieve energy efficiency while maintaining high diagnostics accuracy. I was the lead developer for the wireless testbed widely used in a number of UCLA Wireless Health Institute projects including the highly successful MEDIC and SmartCane systems. My research was funded by NIH under UCLA Medical Informatics program.
