Working in tandem with the software test team to provide hardware feedback for large scale reliability testing. I am constructing a multi-unit-under-test system that allows the automated testing software to send commands and query the status of various hardware IO. I used LabView to create software from the ground up utilizing TCP that allows communication with 32 devices simultaneously, with both input (for example, toggling relays) and output (return the status of indicator lights).

I work on a variety of projects, from high volume laser process optimization, to studying of electrical connections and contacts. I handle lots of basic lab requirements such as soldering, plumbing, and wiring to get equipment up and running, as well has setting up systems for our department to organize and store our notes and files.Highly proficient in Mathematica for data analysis and visualization, I serve as a go-to for many colleagues who need help parsing through large data sets to pull out the details and key metrics.

I tutor students from 7th grade and up in mathematics, physics, and AP/ACT prep. I have covered pre-algebra, algebra, pre-calculus, AP-calculus, and AP-physics. During the school year I help students keep up on homework and prepare for tests and quizzes, as well as preparing study schedules for AP exams. I also have prepared coursework and schedules for students outside of classes who wish to get ahead or test out of courses early.

My research is on a systematic study of the thermal and electronic properties of semiconductors of form I-III-VI2 for use in thermoelectric power generation. My work entails synthesis, characterization, and testing. I explore methods of synthesis, manipulate electronic properties with doping, and use ceramic processing techniques to optimize both thermal and electronic transport. I use melt-anneal techniques along with arc-melting, mechanical alloying, hotpressing, and spark-plasma-sintering to synthesize my samples, and then study them with a variety of methods including hall measurements, XRD, SEM, and DSC.

For my first two years at Michigan State I received funding as a graduate teaching assistant. I taught two semesters of the electronics lab (a junior/senior level physics lab covering basics of analog and digital circuits), one semester of optics (also a junior/senior physics lab), and one semester of a freshmen intro lab on vacuum systems and optics. For my work in the electronics lab I received the 2013 Outstanding Graduate Teaching award.While an undergraduate I spent two semesters as a lab-assistant for the astronomy lab, helping undergraduates use our school's 16-in telescope. I also spent one semester as a grader and lab-assistant for the undergraduate physics circuits course.

For my senior year at Missouri S&T I worked for Dr. Yew San Hor in the physics department. I learned synthesis techniques for making bulk polycrystalline semiconductors, and presented my research to the faculty and department at the end of the year for my senior presentation. I was able to synthesize and characterize my material using x-ray diffraction.
