About Jo Winterbottom
I've been at University of Glasgow for almost a year now. I'm really enjoying being part of the team for GALLANT and SIPHER. For the next 4 years I will also be supporting our new "Enhancing Policy Modelling" project, funded by UKRI as part of the Population Health Improvement UK investment. https://www.ukri.org/news/35-million-investment-to-improve-population-wide-health/ I'll be chairing the Thinktank and Advocacy Working Group and acting as Impact Champion. We'll be looking at how better economic policies can help tackle the UK’s growing health inequalities. The team will be using computer models to show how tax, welfare, pensions and inheritance policies might affect health inequality outcomes. Through citizen, policy and advocacy engagement we aim to incorporate wide-ranging insights into these models to make sure they answer the most pressing questions, inform real world decisions, and are relevant and inclusive across different groups in society. I can't wait to get started :-)
