Working directly with the News Director to source and create afternoon news cast including the spot news, features, weather and discussion of local issues. This involved running the morning meeting, liaising about local happenings, staying on top of what was going on in the rural area and developing long term source/reporter relationships in order to remain well informed within the community. This position required delegating work to the AP, and other reporters as well as conducting brief phone interviews and more in-depth personal interviews. Organising, copywriting and editing skills were keys to success in this role.

Produced both hard and soft features of varying lengths, capturing natural and interview sound. Out in the field and in the studio. This also involved working more in depth investigations with many of the current issues surrounding the town I was located in, and more emotional pieces.Received Runner-up award for National NPR Soft Broadcast Feature 2009.

Investigated the stories discussed at the morning meeting, as assigned by the producer. Conducted many over the phone interviews and produced original spot news scripts. Also was responsible for providing the producer with the daily weather and back up business reports for live broadcast.
