Supporting Project Managers and portfolio of projects by ensuring the monthly management accounting position is complete and accurate (accruals/prepayments); liaising with various stakeholders: accountants, project managers and suppliers; internal/external reporting: i.e. generating reports with variance analysis and commentary to show how the projects are performing against its planned objectives and approved budgets; monthly and full life projects forecasting – completing a forward looking view of performance for the organisation based on future market assumptions; completing Investment Board submission documents for projects applying for additional funding. Other aspects: month end account reconciliation process and completing month end cycle to agreed deadlines. Also supporting key financial business decisions by challenging the norm and being creative.

Preparation of quarterly VAT returns, monthly accounts reconciliation, maintaining asset register & control accounts, preparing and entering journals onto the system, monitoring accruals/prepayments, credit control, checking suppliers’ invoice payments following RAU procedures, producing monthly management accounts reports that were required by internal management but also external financial institutions (i.e. banks/creditors), creating relevant reports in Ms Excel that provide ability to view the financial information from various angles.
