Shaml is a Coalition of Syrian CSOs, that was formed with the aim of becoming a key player and influencer in regards to achieving Democracy, Human Rights, Gender and All-citizens Equality in the future of Syria.Strategy Development and Delivery, Finance and HR:• Provided vision and leadership for Coalition, and developed comprehensive strategy that achieves goals; through confidence building, achieving excellence for orgs and mainstreaming values in practice. • Lead on delivery of strategy, programmes, manage budgets and report to Board of Directors and donors.• Lead on project design, proposals development, fundraising and engaging donors.• Recruited and managed a team of staff members and technical advisors.• Oversaw development of finance, communications and other organisation’s policies and procedures.Campaigning and Advocacy:• Represent the Coalition in high-level meetings with UN agencies, INGOs and other actors;• Built excellent relationships with other CSOs, leading Shaml being elected to represent over 160 Syrian organisations in the UN’s Humanitarian Liaison Group, the most senior humanitarian body in Turkey;• Successfully managed relationship between Member orgs in an extremely complex political context.Coordination, Exchange of knowledge and Information:• Initiated and facilitated thematic meetings to increase organisational collaboration, including a Gender Working Group, an Information Sharing Mechanism, and Programmatic Review meetings.• Developed online Platform (Podio) to maximise sharing of information and learning between members.Organisational Development and Mainstreaming of Values (gender equality, human rights & democracy):• Designed a comprehensive approach that addressed weaknesses of typical capacity building approaches• Incorporated shared Values as an essential component of organisational development package

Awarded A++ by DFID.Tamkeen is a project to empower local governance initiatives and develop the capacity of Syrian local communities for good governance. It builds understanding of, and demand for, good governance in Syrian communities, delivers services and helps Syrian communities to become more resilient to conflict.Management: • Recruit, remotely manage and build capacity of field team members (a team of 10 members);• Build an excellent relationship with the entire team, especially the field team; overcoming the challenges of remote management; • Ensure field team gets all the support and mentoring it needs for successful delivery of activities; dealing with challenges of extreme security conditions on a daily basis;• Ensure team’s timely delivery of the programme’s work plans and targets under very tight deadlines and under considerable pressure,Project Design and Implementation: • Supervise and support community project development processes. RTC is an NGO specialising in strengthening individual and organisational capacities for conflict transformation, and providing specialist advice and consultancy services to governments and INGOsProject aimed at Increasing inter-community engagement to reduce local level conflict and strengthen institutional foundations for transition in several localities; and building and expanding a Syrian Conflict Resolution Network for civil society actions on conflicts in Syria Programme Design and Development:• Prepared and submitted initial project’s concept note to donors;• Helped developing project proposals and securing funding for three different phases of the project.Project Implementation and Coordination:• Coordinated project activities in the field and ensured timely delivery of targets;• Monitored conflict dynamics on the ground, their impact on the project, and proposed solutions;• Identified, liaised with and managed local partners and stakeholders to the assigned project.Conflict Analysis and Mapping:• Wrote conflict analysis and mapping reports, and compiled project progress reports;• Met and briefed donors on progress of work (donors included UK Conflict Pool and the AFSC);
