In this role I held responsibility for all Elanco pressure vessel related activities. I performed preventative maintenance inspections and coordinated all state jurisdictional inspections. I ensured all registered pressure vessels were in compliance. I gave repair recommendations and provided oversight on performance of repairs.I also gave advice on design requirements of pressure vessels and ensured all projects adhered to construction standards. I put together required documentation lists for vendors. I performed vendor inspections as required at off-site locations from Colorado to New York.Additionally I perform PM inspections of atmospheric storage tanks and all vessel related pressure relief devices. I perform ultrasonic thickness testing on vessels, tanks and piping for owner information recording as well.

I walked down projects and gave estimates to our sales team on expected durations and equipment and manpower requirements. The projects I was involved with varied with the largest project being approximately 6 months long when I oversaw a team of 6-8 inspectors on a daily basis. I coordinated this work with the general contractor and the owner. I provided daily direction to co-workers, provided schedule updates with the general contractor and coordinated activities with the owner.

I provided oversight for welding operations in multiple areas of the plant that include the steam turbine building, water treatment and chemical treatment areas. These inspections include fit-ups, root passes and final weld inspections of piping both small bore and large bore on both high energy and low energy systems. Materials being welded on-site were carbon, stainless, high chrome (P11, P22 and P91) and non-metallic piping. I was involved in weld mapping, reviewing rod tickets and ensuring proper welding procedures are being followed. I was also responsible for setting up third party inspections in my area that included radiography, ultrasonic testing, penetrant testing, hardness testing and PMI. I reviewed radiography results from my piping and ensured it was performed and documented correctly.

I performed a variety of testing methods including MT, PT, RT, VT and SFT. I also performed hydrostatic and hydropneumatic tests and was involved with post-weld heat treatments. I wrote reports for these tests as well.

I first became foreman during the 2013 spring shutdown at Flint Hills Resources Pine Bend Refinery. I was over all the work on the storage tanks during the shutdown. We made repairs and worked on the seals of internal floating roofs in multiple tanks. We also opened and closed some tanks for routine inspection. After the spring shutdown I continued my role as foreman on a long term project within the refinery, the building of 2 propylene spheres.For a 3 month period I was the boilermaker general foreman on the building of 2 propylene spheres that measure 76' in diameter and were constructed of steel that is just under 3.5" thick. I was responsible for approximately 40 men including the crane operators/oilers. We had two cranes that I was responsible for coordinating, a 90T and a 250T. There were 3 foreman on day shift along with myself. The work was categorized into 3 sectors; air welding, ground assembly welding and erection. I also took care of progress tracking and payroll.
