My journey has been one of resilience and overcoming adversity - a trait I developed over a decade ago (2011) when my dad passed away from a massive heart attack. His death left me, my mom and little sister without a will or life insurance; yet through those hard times my mom taught me how to persist even in the toughest of times. Four days before Christmas (2018), my mother passed away from a lung embolism which left me, a clueless 21-year-old, alone with the responsibility of raising my 14-year-old sister. In her absence, she left me with a great sense of responsibility which has propelled me forward ever since.
