In 2020, I received the honor of fib Fellow, and in 2023, I was awarded the Tore Danielsson's Stipendium for applied research. I am an expert in precast and prestressed concrete structures, currently focused on timber-concrete composite structures and circularity in the construction industry.I completed my doctorate (2005) on the fatigue life of RC beams strengthened with CFRP laminates (recognized by the Minister of Transport and Construction) and my habilitation (2017) on the structural analysis of prefabricated floor slabs with structural topping (awarded by the Minister of Investment and Development).Since 2020, I have been on leave from the Cracow University of Technology, Poland, where I previously held the roles of Director of the Institute of Building Materials and Structures and Head of the Prestressed Concrete Structures Chair. I am currently an associate professor at Linnaeus University in Sweden. I was a lecturer in the postgraduate program in precast concrete structures in Porto, Portugal.I am the Chairman of Commission 6 "Prefabrication" of the fib (International Federation for Structural Concrete) for the 2025–2028 term and Chairman of the Concrete Structures Section of the Polish Academy of Sciences for the 2024–2027 term. Additionally, I serve as a member of the Technical Committee of the IPHA (International Prestressed Hollowcore Association) "HOLCOLODIS" research program, responsible for academic guidance and research methodology, and as the Chairman of Technical Committee No. 195 "Precast Concrete Products" of the Polish Committee for Standardization.As a practicing engineer with full building licenses and a building appraiser certificate, I have been the owner of PiEB Structural Consulting Company since 2006. I am the author of projects introducing innovative solutions for prestressed concrete floors, including the first application in Poland of prestressed CFRP strips to strengthen an industrial hall.
