I am passionate about inspiring the next generation to deeply appreciate the arts and advancing the integration of technology and design, particularly in architecture. I am currently co-founding The Panafold, a dynamic print-only quarterly that celebrates California’s arts and architecture and has quickly attracted exceptional talent.The periodical grew out of Panafold, Inc., a company dedicated to supporting design firms that improve the built environment.As a holder of several patents and experience as a principal investigator in NLP research, my journey in new industries has been enriched by my time in the Bay Area. At Xerox PARC, I led a team that integrated natural language processing with artificial intelligence and machine perception. Initially drawn to the region by Stanford University from MIT, I benefited from working at the Center for the Study of Language and Information and Interval Research, which fostered invention and growth.I actively contribute to advisory councils at Barnard College, Harvard Divinity School, and the Emile Norman Arts Foundation. Holding a Ph.D. in Linguistics, my work spans electrical engineering, computer science, and the humanities. I am particularly fascinated by the intersections of art, technology, and philosophy, which I explore through my writing and design work.
