Yonggang co-founded the research and development team of SV AI Institute, leading the team to work on:World-class AI research: The team has built joint research labs with Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Nanjing University, Chinese Academy of Sciences, etc. The team's research focuses include AI robustness and natural language processing, publishing papers in NIPS, AAAI, ICML, EMNLP, ACL, etc. The team vice-chaired the working group committee, IEEE P3652.1, Guide for Architectural Framework and Application of Federated Machine Learning.Cutting-edge AI technology bases: The team developed and released a computer vision training pipeline and a cloud-based inference platform, an auto-ML framework that automates feature engineering, algorithm selection, model deployment, and integration, and a natural language processing library that supports small-size and large-size pre-trained language models, providing state-of-the-art performance in NLP tasks.Venture building of AI companies: Yonggang co-founded several AI companies, including AInnovation, a Hong Kong-listed commercialized AI company that provides machine learning products and solutions for manufacturing and insurance, Baiont Capital, a quant-trading company that leverages deep learning to predict trading trends, and J-Elephant Robotics that designs and builds autonomous transport robots.Scalable & growing base of AI talents: Yonggang designed and initiated DeeCamp, a unique AI talent training program that hires hundreds of top AI students from all over the world every summer and trains them to solve real-world AI problems.

2012-2016: Yonggang contributed to Google Homepage Doodles as a 20% software engineer. He built a general-purpose HTML5 audio engine for doodle games. He also improved the sprite-based and canvas-based HTML5 animation engine.2011-2016: Yonggang led an engineering team to contribute to Google Knowledge Graph and Google Book Search, including the crawling and indexing pipeline of Knowledge Graph, the structured data extraction, and the Knowledge Panel data generation modules.2009-2011: Yonggang worked on Google Products to improve search quality.2006-2009: Yonggang led a team to build a group of client-side products to promote Google Search.

Yonggang led the team to build payment solution, digital archives management, and workflow systems for banks. Successful cases include the digital archives management used by the credit card center, Bank of China.
