For the first 11 months I worked on a number of internal Appster projects as a Contractor, including maintaining Appster's websites http://appster.com.au and http://appsterhq.com, focused on optimising code, managing WordPress, Apache, and MySQL - primarily over SSH. In this time, I also learned Nette and MVC (Model-View-Controller) for another internal project. As of June 2016, I became a full time Employee, working on a client project for around 11 months. For this project, I worked with Java backend developers (the Spring framework, among other technologies), and myself worked (almost exclusively) on the JavaScript & jQuery frontend, which was combined with Thymeleaf and APIs provided by the backend developers.Once the project was complete, I moved on to a new, smaller internal project designed to speed up and improve general company processes, working in the MEAN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, AngularJS, Node.js) for the first time, and worked from PoC to a final working version in under 3 weeks. On the side, I also ran live streams for Disruptive Startups, a meetup event run by Appster, both on YouTube and Facebook. This involved feeding audio from multiple stage microphones through a mixer, managing multiple camcorders, and then combining the feeds (including a presentation if needed) to live video using OBS Studio.
