■ Set and drive the WSU strategy for networking and cloud adoption statewide. 𝗕𝘂𝗱𝗴𝗲𝘁: $4M CapEx & OpEx per biennium, including a self-sustaining service center, supporting SLA & OLA agreements of ~$1M YoY. ➤ Created the Enterprise Architecture Criteria document that crosswalks the WSU strategic plan to IT business and architectural requirements and is used as the litmus test for all IT capital funding. ➤ Led the development of community-driven strategic roadmaps for all aspects of IT infrastructure. ➤ Wrote and published the Infrastructure Strategic Plan that unifies community needs, funding strategies, and service roadmaps into a seven-year plan for multiple IT domains. ➤ Built WSU’s nation-leading Regulated Data Program, enabling wins for researchers through customer-centric services, including a continuous monitoring platform within Amazon Web Services.➤ Centralized and consolidated border firewall and network functions by developing shared services with community governance across the WSU system. ➤ Reduced costs in excess of $1 million by deduplicating services and narrowing the infrastructure mission to support the strategic plan.➤ Led the IT network response to COVID, with 10-days’ notice, transitioned 9.6K paid employees and grad students to 100% remote, and >30K students to online/distance learning in 1-week.➤ Led the RFP to build Cougnet, a private state-wide network connecting the WSU campuses.➤ Revised change control process to reduce OT, improve work/life balance, increase retention, and reduce errors & downtime.
