I want to apply my professional skills as a communication and education specialist in a project-based, community focused role. Learning is about challenge and pace. I am ready to run. Years of experience learning from and supporting clients with advanced communication and/or behavioural needs and their families. Seeking diversity in personal connections offers not only greater knowledge but the opportunity to serve and communicate with a greater array of people. Interdisciplinary teaming, creative collaboration and a genuine passion to promote the success of others fuels my work ethic. Agile experimentation and problem solving hones my skills as both a learner and teacher. Taking the technical and making it accessible. With experience at almost all levels of public healthcare, my passion for supporting clients extends into the community. I have turned personal initiatives into organization-wide pilot projects, assisted with and implemented province-wide programs, as well as contributed to workplace culture via membership to multiple committees. Past:-Supported development and execution of pilot project which served Easter Ontario's largest school-board-Facilitated treatment of children with ASD & other advanced communication needs in 1-on-1 and group settings-Caregiver and teacher coaching to maximize individual success; advocacy-Diversified clinical skillset: hi-tech Augmentative Alternative Communication (AAC) devices, PECS; play-based therapy, social communication and peer facilitation, functional and intentional communication; Pivotal-Response Treatment and Early Start Denver Model methodology; Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) planning; -Member of several dynamic, interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
