I have worked in law enforcement for over 20 years. I currently work at the Spalding County Sheriff's Office in the Jail Division. While working in the Jail, I assisted with several other projects. I created, and currently maintain, the departmental website and departmental smartphone app. I also assist with virtual probation, parole, and court hearings. Additionally, I worked as the unofficial "IT" person. I was able to identify a major issue impacting majority of the departmental computers that I was able to find a solution for that not only increased the speed of the computers tremendously, but added time to the computer's useable lifespan at a budget friendly cost. I spent almost 20 years working for the Clayton County Sheriff's Office, For the last eleven years working at the Clayton County Sheriff's Office, I was assigned as the department Quartermaster. In this position, I gained many unique administrative skills that most people in law enforcement may never know are needed or exists. There always has to be those people behind the scenes that make sure the paperwork is done and the records maintained. Over the years, I have identified several problem areas and created solutions that are still in place today at the Sheriff’s Office. The results of my work often exceed the expectations of my peers and brings added accountability and increased efficiency to the department.Some of my skills and qualifications include a proven background in organization and attention to detail. I was frequently assigned to difficult tasks or projects that require leadership, planning, and communication skills. I have also been assigned as the department technical support officer due to my familiarity with technology and ability to troubleshoot and repair computer issues.In the past, I have been assigned to many roles. In addition to being the Quartermaster, who issues and tracks equipment, and technical support officer, I was also the liaison to the county’s vehicle Fleet Maintenance department, county Department of Information Technology, and county Risk Management department. Additionally, I was the coordinator and program administrator for the 1033 Excess Military Property Program, which acquires various military surplus equipment for law enforcement use from around the United States and then returns it when no longer needed.
