* Feature focused testing of various areas of the product (including High Availability, NFS, CIFS, S3, Global Name Space, Cluster Re-sizing, Disk Replacement, Data Migration).* Led the System Test effort for the past 2+ years. Duties included developing and enhancing automated tests that concentrated on multiple aspects of product verification: - Data Consistency Testing: Ensuring that corruption of data does not occur - Stress/Scalability Testing: Pushing product limits (such as exceeding the maximum number of files, disk capacity, number of client connections) - Usability Testing: Ensured that the external interfaces (both GUI and XML-RPC) present a straightforward and polished look to the users - Resource Restriction: Injected artificial contention for multiple product resources (i.e. aggregate disk space, user-space memory) to monitor how the product reacted in situations that we were unable to simulate - Failure Scenarios: Ensuring that our system was able to handle failures that were both external (such as core filer outages, LDAP/NIS/AD/DNS servers down) as well as internal (including process restarts, node reboots).* Worked with our Customer Support (via regular meetings, monitoring direct email exchanges with customers, etc) to ensure that our test coverage was relevant to actual field use cases. * Designed and implemented various tools and libraries to assist in our automated test infrastructure (test logging, debug information collection, client cleanup, etc).* Built a wrapper around various third party Code Coverage tools (gcov, lcov, genhtml) to pull in our automated tests and generate HTML results that denoted which testcases executed a particular line of code.* Worked with various teams (development, other QA members, customer support) to design and prioritize test plans for upcoming releases.* Utilized the Load DynamiX (SwiftTest) tool using both their TDE and automated interfaces* Bug (Trac) reporting, tracking and verification

I was a full-time intern for 7 months at the Mon Valley US Steel plant.I primarily worked on creating a Java front-end GUI application that wouldaide the factory workers on a day-to-day basis. It was a touch screen applicationthat focused on quality/damage reporting for any steel being processed on thePickle lines. I also worked on the backend server (C/C++) that spoke to a SQL database.
