Within 6 months of launch, we have established an international distribution network and have been featured in the London Design Festival, The Metro, The Daily Telegraph, Wolf & Badger and Condé Nast Traveller.It was a lot of fun, but "Sorry I could not travel both, And be one traveller..... . Two roads diverged in a wood, and I ...." I chose the the accounting practice!

Bootstrapped app development venture; monetized casual games through in-app advertising.Achieved in excess of 2m downloads, and Top 10 in a number of app categories across a number of European markets, with a day high of 2,500 downloads per day on a single app.This experience shaped my thoughts around the Build-Measure-Learn ethos, that became the basis of my work with small businesses and startups.

This is where I cut my tooth in software roll-out/implementation. Leveraging on my experience in Group corporate reporting in banking & investments, I was the Finance Change subject matter expert on a number of high-profile, high-impact Finance Change projects such as ABN-AMRO ledger integration and statutory disclosure pack (SDP) automation.

Led Group financial reporting on loans & advances for interim and final reports published and announced to the public (UK & HK; dual-listed bank). Worked closely with Group Risk, Country CFOs, Group Tax and WB (Wholesale Banking) Finance to ensure correct, consistent and accurate group reporting and disclosure on loans & advances, structured trades, non-performing loans (NPLs), individual impairment provisions and portfolio impairment provisions on loans.Also led and co-ordinated group roll-out of IFRS 7 with the support of Shared Service Centre and the Technical Accounting team.

First role out of public practice - This was the "centre of excellence" for L&G, providing internal business assurance services to projects and business areas. My introduction to the variety of business areas and functions within a FTSE 100 environment.Led and performed internal audit assignments in Group Risk, General Insurance, Life & Pensions, culminating in leading the audit on L&G Realignment; a high-profile assignment to provide assurance on the execution of a Group-wide organisational re-design (OD) programme.This was where I learnt to structure my thoughts around risks & processes around business activities and obtain buy-in from stakeholders through chairing Risk Workshops and leading exit meetings.
