Primary Care NP

Working primarily with Oncology patients that are either receiving their first dose of chemotherapy or Oncology patients with a secondary illness requiring hospitalization. The floor is also used to post-op surgery patients. I work closely with all members of the health team to manage the patient's course in the hospital and provide direct patient care through communication and general nursing skills.

I work with patients in the acute phase of a Stroke. We are the last place the patient comes before going home or to rehab. I work with many members of the healthcare team developing a plan for treatment in the hospital and discharge planning. Many patients go to inpatient or outpatient rehab which requires knowledge of insurance practices and benefits that the patient needs and qualifies for.

I also worked for 2 years within the company at a physician's office as Dr Bernice Craze's RN.
