Director Of Provider Communications
CurrentCorporate lead for provider communications, directing a remote team of highly experienced professionals in shaping the messaging for one of the nation's largest nonprofit health insurance companies. In my role, I partner with business leaders around the company to design and implement comprehensive communications strategies for the organization’s network of contracted hospitals and health care practitioners. This includes campaigns supporting the adoption of new digital tools. In 2024, my team’s provider education efforts helped cut fax and phone submissions of utilization management requests from 45% of monthly transactions to 9%; secure portal transactions rose from 48% to 86%. I have a digital-first mindset, and have been transforming how we communicate with our most-important partners since my first day on the job.I worked hand-in-hand with a member of the Board of Directors to build an advisory committee of clinicians to help guide company decisions. This helped inform my leadership of digital education focused on improving quality and member outcomes, aiding enterprise efforts around Medicare STARS, CAHPS, and other metrics. This intense focus on educating providers about their role in quality care was integral to our company achieving its goal of 3.5 Stars for our New York business and maintaining a 3.5 in Connecticut. Now I’m embarking on an effort to help identify how artificial intelligence can be applied to Marketing & Communications and provider education challenges, an effort that will extend into 2025 and beyond. I believe it will be vital to leverage my experience with board-level advisory committees to gain external insight into how my employer should approach this new field with its provider network.
