Since retiring, I have served as a volunteer for Scouting America (formerly Boy Scouts of America) -- the foremost youth program of character development and values-based leadership training.I am a retired strategic and pragmatic IT professional experienced in solving complex challenges across major functions of a global corporation, including research and development, supply chain, sales and marketing, and corporate. My proven areas of expertise include IT strategy and influencing change across functional, organizational, and geographical boundaries. I am known for using an uncommon combination of technical and business acumen along with strategic, analytical, and communication skills. These enable establishment of clear goals, analysis of options, anticipating potential barriers to success, and identifying the details needed to make the desired changes a reality. I am drawn to solving complex challenges and achieving goals involving people, process, information, and technology – especially those challenges that have resisted prior efforts to find a solution. Just tell me that it can’t be done! I leverage approaches from multiple disciplines, including Enterprise Architecture, Lean, Six Sigma, and change management. Creative ideas come naturally to me because I seek input, learn quickly, and make connections. I look to collaborate with those whose experience and strengths are different from or complementary to my own. My leadership style is based on the principles of servant leadership, situational leadership, the Scout Oath and Law, and the Golden Rule. I am grateful for the many opportunities I have had to produce innovative and valuable solutions while working with great colleagues, and I am thankful that many of those colleagues still consider me a mentor or friend. Perhaps that is because as a servant leader, I do my best to help other people at all times in an open and ethical manner.Name variations: Bill Cameron, William Cameron, William H. Cameron, Wm. H.
