Monitor the progress of procurements, facilitate government acceptance, and track delivery to ship repair facilities.• Provide technical review of maintenance standards and drawings, as well as preventative and corrective maintenance practices.• Prepare project progress reports, white papers, briefings, and other collateral that validate and report on all work in progress.• Conduct market research to obtain pricing information and prepare purchase request documents to procure commercial spare parts, technical items, and all other necessary supplies/services for all ship repair, alteration and casualty response activities. Uscg Integrated Support Command (Isc), Base Support Unit, Portsmouth, Va

Served briefly as Safety Officer for a major Coast Guard Base while in process of transitioning out of the Coast Guard. ISC Portsmouth’s purpose was to meet the demands of a growing and changing Coast Guard and was home to six 270s, one 210, one patrol boat, three buoy tenders, and eight other tenant commands. The Base Support Unit (BSU) provided base utilities, all building and grounds maintenance, and enforced environmental responsibilities for the base. Integral member of the senior leadership team onboard a Medium Endurance Cutter with 118 personnel and involved in maritime drug enforcement and migrant interdiction activities.• As the Main Propulsion Assistant, worked together with counterparts from the WMEC Maintenance Logistics Command Atlantic Vessel Section (TDM), Logistics Management Specialists and Port Engineers to utilize practical technical experience and knowledge of the operation and components found in marine engineering applications with the WMEC Fleet to improve overall performance, reliability and mission readiness of 31 vessels. • Interfaced with APM’s (spell out), edited Maintenance Procedure Cards and worked with Time Compliant Technical Order personnel in a wide range of engineering and technical tasks that supported the WMEC Product line and improved the life cycle of a wide range of systems and components.• Also worked with the Engineer Officer, Port Engineer and Availability Project Manager to coordinate all efforts before, during and after depot level maintenance availabilities of vessels scheduled for service.• Ensured funding, contract execution and specification generation and all other requirements, such as TCTO and Cutter Ship Maintenance Procedures, were meet in support of engineering best practices and the WMEC Fleet.• Provided valuable insight to the Fleet Damage Control Assistant and Engineering Officer relevant to the planning of organizational level projects within the Cutter community.• Ensured Cutter worklists were maintained for the Propulsion Division. • Collaborated with the APM in the planning of major overhauls, repairs and diesel engine inspections of all Main Propulsion Engines. • Worked with APM’s and the Port Engineer to plan and execute Material Condition Assessment surveys.
