Wilfrid Muiche, hailing from Cameroon, began his journey in 2006 when he took a leap of faith and deviated from his plan to earn a degree in Math to instead pursue Computer Science at the University of Yaoundé 1. Leaving Math—a degree synonymous with genius and success—for Computer Science was an extremely uncommon decision in his community. Still, Wilfrid saw the potential of technology to change lives.In 2011, he made another bold move, this time to the United States, to further his education in technology. At DeVry University, Wilfrid earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Systems with dual concentrations in Software Development and Administration, and Database Management.Wilfrid has since been working as a software developer for the Ohio Department of Public Safety while simultaneously serving in the US Army Reserve for the past 12 years including his service as a Cyber Warfare Officer since 2016. He is among the first four US Army Reserve Officers to complete the Cyber Basic Officer Leaders Course (BOLC). Moreover, he made history as the first US Army Reserve Officer named an Honor Graduate of Cyber BOLC.Wilfrid, rightfully renowned for his expertise, was approached by a colleague to serve as the CIO for a small app company. Unfortunately, by the time he was brought in, the company was already struggling to secure ownership of their app's code from an outsourced partner. Because they didn’t prioritize IT guidance and support in the initial stages of development, they faced multiple roadblocks and financial issues, leading to their eventual closure.After experiencing firsthand how detrimental it can be when small businesses financially can’t access proper IT solutions and chief information officer (CIO) guidance, Wilfrid set out to be the change he wanted to see.He founded Willan Technologies in 2017. Guided by the ethos of inclusivity and a passion for excellence, Captain Muiche envisions a future where technology catalyzes positive change, empowering small businesses with access to expert guidance and solutions to grow and thrive.
