How can we mobilize the past to heal what’s present and secure our shared future? Having strong ties to the Middle East, I have strived to understand how our beautiful, yet complex history and cultural heritage can be used to form connections and empower post-conflict societies. 8 years of research, writing and travel as an undergraduate and later an MA student have taught me that dialogue is greater than any weapon, and that storytelling may be the key to successful intercultural communication. Throughout the past 5 years, I have been the recipient of the Canada Graduate Master’s Scholarship awarded by the Social Science and Humanities Research Council of Canada and participated in numerous projects investigating how to build resilient communities.I hope to continue learning about cultural heritage preservation and promotion, development and cooperation and other innovative solutions to global issues.Now, I would love to hear your story.
