HTS was formed by renaming Southwest Securities Inc. and then merging into that renamed entity First Southwest Company. Post-merger HTS is the third largest clearing firm in the U.S. with fifty offices in eighteen states and approximately 1,000 employees. Retail assets under management $14B and Clearing Services Client Assets of $22B.CIO during years of rapid system, industry, regulatory and economic change. I reported to the CEO or CFO for most of my tenure. Provided leadership to up to 220 personnel. Budget responsibility ranged up to $38MM. Significant accomplishments included:• Completed core system migration from highly customized mainframe platform.• Formalized IT governance and controls which were continually enhanced to address Sarbanes-Oxley, FFIEC and other requirements. • Expanded security function from basic access control to a multi-faceted group responsible for user education, access control, audit coordination, external testing, threat management and incident response.• Completed several mergers in of brokerage firms, brokers, and traders.• Enhanced the disaster recovery and business continuity planning posture of the firm both pre and post 9-11• Managed real estate, construction management and facilities management groups at various times during my tenure.

Managed projects including audits, systems conversions, troubled debt restructuring, bankruptcy support and litigation support. Conducted the IT general controls reviews in the Dallas office.

Audit manager working primarily in the Financial Services, Oil & Gas, and Manufacturing industries. Performed CAAT work and IT general controls reviews for audits in the Dallas area.

Audit assistant/staff for three busy seasons and completed a tax compliance rotation during this timeframe.
