For the past five years, I have grown into my position at Oceanside Seafood in Avalon, NJ. I started out in my junior year of high school and quickly established myself as a crucial member of the business. I wanted to learn as much as I could, as fast as possible. Through the first two years I had accomplished all tasks in the restaurant and could perform at any position. After showing much potential I was promoted to manager, which included an array of new jobs such as training new employees, scheduling, taking inventory and ordering. Over the past year we have expanded the business by including a catering division. Knowing the business as well as I do, my employer, Michele Hall, felt that I was the person to take the riegns and make this successful. I do much of my adverising through word of mouth, going to local businesses, such as campgrounds and VFWs and to high volume areas to spread the word about the business. I love the fast pace of this industry, and the ever-changing challenges. I would feel comfortable in any position equally as difficult because I learn fast and keep up performance as well as set an example for other employees.
