My experience in the industrial automation industry started with my first summer as a production associate at AXYZ Automation. From the beginning, I had great mentors that took the time to both teach and challenge me. This experience was vital in developing my passion for automation, and gave me a first hand understanding of the needs of front line staff. I carried this initial experience with me as I advanced to a mechanical design role. In this position, I was able to provide for the needs of front line staff by designing products for manufacturing and assembly. As the scope and complexity of projects increased over the years, I had the opportunity to collaborate closely with electrical and software engineering, which has made my experience well rounded. My experience was broadened further by working directly customers, and learning how to provide solutions to their manufacturing problems. In my position as Process Quality Manager, I worked with both internal and external customers. Their needs varied, and the solutions to their problems ranged from information systems, to manufacturing process design, to simply re-printing a CAD drawing.
