In this role I prospect for optimal locations to build new wind and solar generation projects in SPP and ERCOT, as well as manage projects through the generation interconnection process or queue. To do this I utilize PSSE, UPLAN, and TARA.

In this role my main responsibility was to create and study future models of the ERCOT Interconnection, and use those models to proactively recommend needed transmission projects. I was also responsible for the annual short circuit analysis, development of off-peak sensitivity cases, and leading process improvement efforts. I have presented study results at numerous stakeholder meetings, as well as worked with our compliance team to ensure that our studies satisfied all applicable NERC requirements. Throughout my time at ERCOT I also mentored and coached several new engineers, as well as participated in interviews and recruiting events.

In this program I completed modules, competencies, and projects to gain a broad understanding of the functions that ERCOT provides to maintain grid reliability for the State of Texas. Projects I worked on during the program included evaluating the current state of inertia on the grid, working across departments to determine the optimal method of modeling synchronous condensers, coordination and creation of the End of Year Report for over 15 departments, and an assessment of the ideal method to curtail wind units when approaching the Panhandle GTL.

I worked under two Master Electricians installing solar energy systems at customers residences. This gave me hands on experience with solar technology, and exposed me to the advantages and disadvantages of current products.

During the Summers of 2014 and 2015 I worked with the sales compensation software Xactly Express, helping to build, troubleshoot, implement, and customize the software for clients.

I created surveys, built complex spreadsheet templates, and created status reports to be used company wide.

I was responsible for presentations, website issues, account creation, event uploading, and troubleshooting and refining the Stream iPhone application.

I launched and managed a professional lawn service with over 12 customers and two employees.
