I focus on developer productivity on the Autonomy team and across Skydio. My day-to-day is split between unblocking people and efforts through specific insights and drop-in support, as well as taking the biggest pain points I see (or anticipate) to plan and execute on major improvements.I led a three year long project to migrate Skydio's monorepo from CMake+Python build system to Bazel. I proposed and brought the project to completion with a team of two others.• Replaced old system incrementally and in place, delivering speedier builds module by module• Eliminated the status quo of devs needing to run builds overnight after pulling changes• Reduced CI time for merging a PR from >10hr to ~30min as scope and coverage increasedTo aid with that process, we created AST-parsing tooling based around Gazelle, which serves dual-purposes, planning and automating large-scale refactors, and reducing handwritten boilerplate in Bazel files by over 90%.In addition to the build system effort, I drove a Python 2 to Python 3 migration to completion, spanning 1.8M lines of handwritten code. We used the same tooling we developed for the Bazel transition to help plan and sequence work.Besides the big migrations, I spend my time making better tools for developers. Some random highlights:• Implemented a FUSE filesystem in Rust for lazily fetching flight data from S3, reducing time to start analyzing data by several minutes per flight• Maintained and improved a command-line multitool for finding and executing binaries, tests, and other workflows• I created and manage the internal VS Code configuration, which was previously manually setup, highly variable, and broken on most developer machines

I worked on the Interface team, which was responsible for the mobile app, as well as the systems on the drone that managed and controlled flight state. I developed internal tooling and customer facing media features in C++, Python, and JavaScript.• Designed and built video clip system for the first Skydio product (R1) using GStreamer in C++, including system to synchronize audio from pilot's phone with video from R1, created an AR overlay system in OpenGL ES (used to create AR assets for the launch video)• Identified a need for easier flight visualization and created a beloved web app to view and annotate incoming flight data• Contributions to build process allowed the business to deploy subsets of built code from monorepo in containers, allowing Skydio to launch a cloud product
