Erin Wolf is a recognized leader in the field of international travel safety, security, and crisis management. Currently, she is an active member of the International Mobile Staff pool with Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF).During her 10+ years as an international travel safety specialist, Erin has led successful, robust risk management programs in Higher Education, specializing in high risk analysis, site assessment, emergency preparedness training, and crisis response. As a subject matter expert with International SOS, the world's top-rated emergency assistance provider, she supported university clients by providing tailored, strategic support to strengthen their crisis management programs and readiness to respond to an emergency abroad. Prior to her role at International SOS, she was the Associate Director of International Travel Safety & Security at Princeton University. Under her leadership, Princeton enhanced their ability to support students, faculty, and staff traveling abroad. Her responsibilities included developing resources for travel safety preparedness, risk assessments, trainings, individual consultations, and leading Princeton’s 24/7 response to emergencies abroad.Additionally, she developed and directed the University of Texas at Austin’s and then the University of Texas System's international crisis management plans for over 8 years. She conducted numerous site assessments abroad, routinely facilitated health and safety trainings, and provided 24/7 emergency support for students, faculty, and staff. She has also supervised and taught backcountry camping and positive coping skills to troubled young adults and adolescent teens as a Wilderness Therapy Guide in rural Vermont, acquiring CPR certification and completing the Crisis Prevention Institute's Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training.She recently achieved the Triple Crown distinction in long-distance backpacking - a rare and difficult accomplishment - hiking 10,500+ miles to complete the Pacific Crest Trail (twice), the Continental Divide Trail, and the Appalachian Trail, America's three most iconic National Scenic Trails. She has a M.A. in Interpersonal Communication from The University of Texas at Austin and a B.A. in Public Speaking from Stephen F. Austin State University. She served as a Volunteer in the US Peace Corps in Zambia from 2006-2009. She summited Mt. Kilimanjaro in 2013; summited Mt. Whitney in 2019; completed the Triple Crown of long-distance hiking in 2022; and has visited 30+ countries during her travels.
