She has a M.A. in Interpersonal Communication from The University of Texas at Austin and a B.A. in Public Speaking from Stephen F. Austin State University. She served as a Volunteer in the US Peace Corps in Zambia from 2006-2009. She summited Mt. Kilimanjaro in 2013; summited Mt. Whitney in 2019; completed the Triple Crown of long-distance hiking in 2022; and has visited 30+ countries during her travels.
