Beside developing the OpenWrt-based firmware of the Devolo Magic Wifi devices, my responsibility is everything that has to do with software quality assurance: Unit tests, static and dynamic analysis, fuzz tests, code reviews, and CI processes to ensure that only source code that passes all tests and quality requirements is allowed to be merged into the codebase. This includes establishing all required infrastructure, from unit testing frameworks for C++ and bash to running unit tests on the target hardware, as well as training and mentoring other developers. Member of an agile team that develops the firmware for the devolo Magic powerline devices. C, GitLab, docker, Linux, and all that comes with it. Focus is on the introduction and improvement of software quality tools, everything from unit tests to coverage measurement; design, implementation, internal training. Design and implementation of a secure database system that is the central hub in the production process of Smart Grid devices. Covers everything from electronic order documents to electronic shipment form (FNN eLS), from MAC address generation to validation of laser labeling, from back-end database via web server to interactive user interface. Developed in C++17 using a strict test-driven process with 100 % feature coverage, a Python-based integration test suite, plus hundreds of pages of documentation. Covering not only the technical side but also project management tasks like coordination of other developers of various departments, requirement analysis, database administration, and end-user support.Besides, implementation of firmware of embedded Linux devices. Developed software quality assurance routines from streamlined builds to semi-automatic unit and integration tests. Designed and implemented/refactored the firmware architecture to simplify future development.
