- This placement with Environmental Health involved supporting the work of scientific unit staff through air quality monitoring, landfill gas/leachate monitoring and industrial pollution control (IPPC).- I gained experience in compiling data in spreadsheets and in the use of programmes such as Map Info and ADMS Urban. - I was also involved in the compiling of the Annual Monitoring Summary Report for the North Foreshore Giant’s Park for submission to the Northern Ireland Environment Agency under the Waste Management Closure Licence for the site. - Air Quality Monitoring involved the collection and data processing of Nitrogen Dioxide diffusion tubes across the city.- I gained the opportunity to operate and calibrate specialist air quality analysers in fulfilment of the council’s statutory duties under Part III of the Environment (NI) Order 2002.
