Principal License #315908As the 7-12 Assistant Principal of a K-12 Charter School, I am responsible for the daily activities including schedules, testing, evaluating, hiring, attendance, curriculum and school discipline. I am also the building 504 coordinator, teacher induction facilitator and the liaison for our Collegiate Academy Foundation (fundraising). We try to wear many hats at a small school so I also supervise our facilities staff and act as the Secondary Incident Commander for the emergency SERT team. The job of an assistant principal can be hectic and rapidly changing. Making a difference in the lives of students through positive relationships and supporting the needs of the "whole" student is what drew me to education as a second career. My ability to cope with the ever-changing landscape calmly and maturely is one skill I believe sets me apart from my peers.

Teaching at a small Charter School is a great experience. My class sizes are relatively small and the staff and student population is more like a community than at a larger public high school. At Collegiate Academy of Colorado (CAC) my daily classes include AP World History, AP US History, US History, World History and History in Film. Having 5 daily "preps" can be a challenge but exciting at the same time.

I am currently teaching 8th grade US History. Our curriculum covers New World Exploration through The Civil War and Reconstruction. I am a coach for our tackle football team as well as the building coordinator of the Geography Bee.
