My research used a mix of analytic and computational techniques to predict the orbital trajectories of astrophysical bodies like black holes. I then compared these models with real-world data from telescopes, satellites, and gravitational-wave detectors to generate new insights into the nature of gravity.- Adapted techniques from condensed matter and particle physics to the study of gravity to develop improved gravitational-wave models that are more accurate and more realistic- Wrote custom Mathematica routines to efficiently perform symbolic calculations with tensor-valued equations involving almost 1 million terms- Analysed data from various sources with custom-built models to test if certain proposals from string theory are viable successors to Einstein's theory of gravity- Developed Python code for gravitational-wave modeling, Bayesian parameter estimation, and data visualisation using packages like NumPy, SciPy, and Bilby

Candidate quantum-gravity theories, like string theory, generically predict the existence of many new particles yet to be discovered. Far from being merely objects of theoretical interest, these hypothetical particles have the potential to solve some of the biggest mysteries in physics, including the nature of dark matter and dark energy. My doctoral thesis used modern analytic techniques to predict how these particles might reveal themselves in astrophysical systems and high-precision laboratory experiments.- Devised a novel analytic approximation method to model dissipative interactions between black holes and their surrounding environment more efficiently than traditional approaches- Designed semi-empirical formulas to efficiently explore the parameter spaces of certain string-theory-type particles and examine the viability of detecting them in high-precision laboratory experiments
