In the village of Fruitvale, British Columbia – population 1500 – Corey Woods developed a passion for acting through community play performances, watching television and enjoying regular movie rentals from the local video store. Drawn to the creative and collaborative elements that the acting process offered and inspired by screen legends like Meryl Streep and Cate Blanchett, Corey Woods studied high school drama before leaving her comfortable small-town life to pursue a professional acting career in the film and television production hub of Vancouver. In her new surroundings, she sought out training through the study of screen performance techniques and voice acting at SchoolCreative Institute of the Arts. After getting early experience on camera through short films, Corey Woods started a steady streak of small roles on TV fare like The Unauthorized Saved by the Bell Story (2014), The Unauthorized Melrose Place Story (2015), Untold Stories of the ER (2016), Supernatural (2016), Garage Sale Mystery: The Art of Murder (2016), and Britney Ever After (2017). Eager to make her hometown proud and fulfill her creative path, Corey Woods is primed for a new level of awareness in 2018. On television, she’ll kick things off with a supporting role in the Hallmark Channel Original Love on the Slopes as the matchmaking best friend pushing Katrina Bowden to pursue Thomas Beaudoin. On the big screen, she has three independent feature films in the works - Filthy Swine (as a young woman who gets mixed up with a bad cop), 13 Miles (as an ambitious journalist torn between love and her career), and Braindead (as a bright-eyed girlfriend who discovers that her boyfriend is a zombie). When she’s not acting, the Corey Woods is a regular reader of biographies and self-improvement books, and a continual supporter of animal rights.
