About Jim Strano
I have been in the entertainment business for over 25 years, having DJed at many big name venues including The Trocadero, Pleasuredome, I-Beam, the End-Up, The White Party and more.I began my DJ career in Hawaii at Hamburger/Dirty Mary's in Waikiki in 1984 and soon gained recognition and asked to play at the Saint in New York, Trocadero in San Francisco and in Paris. I declined these offers, but did eventually head to San Francisco in 1988 and DJed at the Trocadero in 1988, 1989 and again in 1991/92 for a special re-opening party.I have since moved on to producing events and am an avid fund raiser with my biggest event to date being the Cabaret for Humanity in 2007 at the Plush Room which raised more than $10,000.00 for Habitat for Humanity SF. I was the stage manager and artistic director.Current projects in the works are the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, Inc. Easter in the Park where I have been asked to be stage manager/director once again.Currently working more behind the scenes in music engineering and management / production.Specialties: I have a great ability to unite people for a cause and get people involved.
