I am a mathematical biologist with 10+ years research experience applying mathematical reasoning and analysis to find creative solutions for challenging problems. My research focuses on the intersection of big data, network modeling, analysis, and control, and systems pharmacology. In pursuit of these foci, I have developed machine-learning methods (BooleaBayes) to infer mechanistic models from -omics data and public network databases and the unbiased MuSyC framework for quantifying drug combination synergy, and applied these tools to identify drivers of drug resistance in small-cell lung cancer and acute myeloid leukemia (in preparation). I also maintain the popular "synergy" library for Python that implements many common, and some not-so-common synergy reference models.My emerging research interests include understanding mechanisms of drug synergy, and modeling and control of multiscale cellular populations / systems.
