About Chris Warren
As the Design Director and Founding Principal of WORD, I lead a contemporary architecture and design office with 13+ years of experience in all scales of work. My expertise is based in sustainable and fashion-oriented retail design, as well as single and multi-family housing, general commercial/office, mixed-use projects, and master planning.I am a licensed architect and a LEED accredited professional, with a master's degree in architecture from the University of Pennsylvania. I have been recognized as one of the ten international Design Vanguards for 2020 by Architectural Record magazine, and as an Emerging Talent speaker at the Monterey Design Conference in 2019. I am also an educator, having taught at the University of Southern California, and as a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Master of Urban Design program at Washington University in St. Louis. My mission is to create innovative and impactful spaces that engage with their inhabitants, urban context and the environment.
