FAIRBIKES is a bike share service where people can pick up a bike at any bike sharing station in the network and return it to any sharing station. You can use a FAIRBIKES bike for an hour, for a day, or throughout the riding season. Our goal is increasing mobility for locals and visitors and establishing another way to explore and enjoy Fairbanks. Whether visiting Alaska, commuting to work, or just out for a ride, FAIRBIKES is fun you can feel good about.FAIRBIKES is a FOR-Profit venture - one inspired by the work we do for Non-Profits. It is a dedicated effort to create an economically sustainable and socially responsible business. We are using business modeling designed to reduce risks and accelerate the start-up process. Beginning with 'Bike to Work Week' in May of 2013 and continuing through September we did hands-on, face-to-face market research at over 25 local events, followed by a month reviewing what we had learned. What we had learned was a bike share could address and in some cases solve several problems that Fairbanks residents, businesses owners, and visitors identified during our customer discovery research. FAIRBIKES bicycles rolled out fall of 2015.

I worked as an in-house writer from 2002-2006. Worked freelance for FNA from 2006-2010 and returned in 2012 as a member of the Planning and Development team. At FNA I research new funding sources, work collaboratively with others, including program directors, accountants, and human resources to identify existing program needs and design new quality programs. Work with other organizations including Universities, School Districts, Hospitals, and Social Service Agencies throughout the state. Wrote original grant proposals, yearly continuations, and renewals and assisted, as appropriate, with other general funding strategies, including special events and fund-raising campaigns. Scope of Work:Funder Research, Grant Research, Grant Writing, Strategic Plans, White Papers, Feasibility Studies, Budget Development, Personalized Trainings, and Comprehensive Fundraising Plans.• Wrote original proposals with a 69% success rate in securing funding.

Co-authored Alaska Benchmark Standards Reading guidebooks for 3rd and 6th graders and Writing guidebooks for 3rd and 6th graders. Guidebooks assist educators in understanding the standards criteria and enable curriculum restructuring to match standards. These guidebooks were used in the Fairbanks North Star Borough School District as well as several rural school districts throughout Alaska.

Managed the University’s housing and residence life operations in the Division of Student Affairs; provided fiscal management for department budget; supervised support staff, and oversaw and/or implemented programming to ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, standards, and laws. Negotiated financial agreements with outside vendors for materials. Evaluated and assessed University housing occupancy, retention, and projection trend.Oversaw the residential facilities to maintain a safe, secure, and healthy living environment; confirmed that all room assignments and billings were completed and communicated to students. Coordinated with Security and Facilities Departments to ensure student safety; responsible for crisis and risk management. Represented the department and established collaborative relationships with departments campus-wide in developing and overseeing residential communities that utilized best practices in student development to create engaging, learning environments.
