As a PhD candidate in the project 'B-Magic. The Magic Lantern and its Cultural Impact as a Visual Mass Medium in Belgium', I wrote the still unwritten history of the magic lantern as an educational tool in Belgian schools. As a research assistant for the project 'Piracy or the Dissemination of knowledge? A history of counterfeit publishing in science, 1790-1890' I conducted historical research on piracy in Dutch and Belgian scientific periodicals. This resulted in the publication of a co-authored article on the influential position of journal editors as gatekeepers and mediators of knowledge from abroad. The blog Cultuurgeschiedenis.be popularises the research carried out within KU Leuven's research group Cultural History since 1750. As one of its two editors I edited blog posts, translated English posts into Dutch, and carried out general editorial tasks.

Raffia is the official journal of the Institute for Gender Studies at Radboud University Nijmegen. It centres on feminism, gender, emancipation, and sexuality and it publishes three issues a year.As a member of its editorial staff, I contributed to the general editorial process by suggesting themes for articles, contacting authors, as well as editing articles. I was also in charge of Raffia's social media.

As an editor, I edited and corrected theses, papers, and essays written by students in higher education.

'S-Hertogenbosch

As an editor and trainee at Erfgoed Brabant, I edited and wrote content for the interactive online platform on regional heritage brabantserfgoed.nl. I also took part in courses on heritage management.

As a senior tutor at Inwijs, I supported groups of VMBO, havo and VWO pupils with their school work for various subjects. I also accommodated classes of absent teachers, continuing their lessons on the particular class.

As an 'examentrainer' at Lyceo, I prepared secondary school students for their final exams in the subject of German during two-day courses.In 2016, I was awarded with a Silver Status, as the pupils that I taught had given me an average grade of 8.5 (out of 10), meaning that I was one of the 27% best reviewed trainers.

As a member of GSV Excalibur's Advisory Board, I advised the Executive board of the Association in matters regarding policy plans, annual reports, general regulations, and other issues.

Nijmegen

As a voluntary counselor at VluchtelingenWerk, I informed refugees about their asylum procedures, helped them fill out applications for family reunification, and I answered various kinds of questions during regular VluchtelingenWerk consulting hours.

Archive And Library

During a three-month internship in the Archive of the Schwules Museum, I carried out general archival work while I also described and catalogued the unorganized sources in the archive's collection relating to the history of homosexuality in the Netherlands. I have also critically engaged with the museum's collection of the political magazine for lesbians "Frauenliebe" (1926-1930).

Ex Tempore is the scientific journal of the Department of History of Radboud University Nijmegen. It publishes three issues a year.

GSV Excalibur is an association for history students at Radboud University in Nijmegen, with about 700 members.
