At SITE I work as a gebiedsontwikkelaar (area developer) on exciting urban development projects. Within the team I focus on structuring complex development processes into a vision that is shared by all stakeholders. Innovations in the housing market and all interests and topics connected to creating residential developments that work is my area of expertise.

Zuidas is where Amsterdam meets the world. In recent years this part of the city has grown into Amsterdam's central business district and home to the international business community. The challenge for the next two decades is to transform Zuidas to an integral part of the city by adding thousands of homes for old and new Amsterdammers. As strategic Advisor for Residential Development I am responsible for creating a development strategy for these new neighborhoods. What types of neighborhoods will we build? What housing typologies go where? Who will be our future residents? How do we accommodate the city's housing policy in an area like Zuidas? I will work with both internal and external stakeholders to help shape the future of Amsterdam's most dynamic area.

Onclinenco is my one-man consultancy business. I help my clients in the field of urban development. The hustle and bustle of city life is what drives and motivates me. I often define the project in cooperation with my clients, and together we get the work done.Cooperation is essential to urban development and initiating this is my specialty. This way I can handle projects that are 'bigger than just me'.Some past projects:- Location study for a neighborhood center (client: a large affordable housing corporation in Amsterdam;- Support in organizing a cooperation between four developers (client: two private developers and two housing corporations);- Organizing public outreach for creating a development vision for a Rotterdam neighborhood (client: housing corporation, local government, private developer);- Researching the effectiveness of a development strategy for a shopping street in Rotterdam (clients: local government and housing corporation);- Presentation about engaging local entrepreneurs in the process of designing public space (client: local government).

The Class of 2020 Foundation is an Amsterdam-based non-profit foundation, platform and think-tank working on improving student housing conditions in Europe. Together with our partners we lead the sector into the 21st century. From real estate investors to student housing operators and from universities to city leadership - together we work hard to accommodate the needs of the student of the future.As the foundation manager I have the privilege to oversee the day-to-day activities of the foundation and manage The Class of 2020 team. Activities include organising and commissioning research, organising smaller and larger events, giving presentations, moderating discussion panels, connecting people, and in general: knowing everything there is to know about the European student housing and talent development sector.

As a consultant I often play a central and impartial role in complex urban (re)development projects. Projects that always require different kinds of parties to co-operate. I drive complex development processes by not just having a great idea or real estate development concept, but by getting people together who can actually make it happen, and then help making it happen by facilitating the development process.A few of my projects:- Co-authoring a development vision for a former prison complex in Rotterdam (for a developer);- Project secretary for a large development project in Rotterdam (for 2 private developers and 2 housing corporations);- Co-author of the KennisAs development strategy for Rotterdam (for a student housing developer);- Project leader Krugerplein development vision in Amsterdam (for local government and housing corporation).

As a consultant I often played a central and impartial role in complex urban (re)development projects. I started at DE LIJN straight out of university, but I was given a lot of responsibility quite quickly. This gave me the opportunity to develop the skills I use as an urban planning cunsultant. Especially my communication skills and my ability to communicate complicated messages in a structured and compact way.Some of the most exciting projects I worked on were the acquisition of the Hofpleinlijn by a consortium of housing corporations, being the general secretary of CityCorp, and working on a residential development strategy in Almere.

Next to writing my thesis I worked at the Puget Sound Regional Council as an intern. I compared countywide planning policies in the multi-county Regional Council in Seattle, I summarized my findings in a compact diagram.

I advised prospective students on their future academic careers.
