During my study physical therapy I met colleague student Leo Echteld. Together we created a business plan for a sports medical centre in the Netherlands with an innovative total approach. Leo started his career at Ajax where he focused on sports rehabilitation and performance and worked with various of top class players. I started Fysiomed in 1993, merely focused on the regular physic market. In his Ajax period Leo created the Total Talent program, a program for young sports talents. This program is still used at SMC Fysiomed for young sportsmen and women who play football, hockey tennis or any other sports. In 2004 Leo and I melted our experiences together in Fysiomed and in 2006 we transformed our physical therapy/sports rehabilitation practice (that then existed of 6 locations) into Sports Medical Centre Fysiomed, centralized on 1 location in Amsterdam. We added 15 different specializations (Body/Mind/Energy) to our working field to be able to deliver the best service for our clients: top class athletes, professional football clubs, amateur athletes, regular clients with health / medical questions and companies. We believe in accomplishing synergy between body, mind and energy and do everything to accomplish this for every client.

We work in the rehabilitation and performance field for top class athletes, top football clubs, regular sports people and companies. People who do not like to sport will be stimulated to integrate it in their daily lives. Our mission: EMPOWER PEOPLE TO PERFORM BETTER. And we do everything in the field of body, mind and energy (nutrition) to create the best balance and therefore the best health status.
