After obtaining my M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Twente in the Netherlands in 2002, I stayed and worked there for two years. Then I worked for 8 years at the well-known Dutch research institute called TNO. Here, I developed and evaluated innovative visual, auditory and tactile human interaction concepts. After that I have worked for two years at EagleScience, a software company as a Human Factor researcher. Meanwhile I co-founded Elitac Wearables; a company that continues the tactile human interaction work that I did at TNO and beyond. At Elitac Wearables, we develop wearables from idea to commercially viable product – and any stage in-between – for the medical and safety domains. We specialise in integrating electronics and textiles, with a particular focus on haptic feedback technology and sensors. With our wearables, we want to help improve the daily lives of at least one million people before 2035. and develops tactile displays and integrates them into textiles. As Senior Scientist of Elitac Wearables, I am responsible for creating and testing new integration techniques and new product concepts. Besides that, I check if our products meet our requirements and make sure that our research and development roadmap matches our needs.
