Experienced research scientist interested in R&D for a more sustainable society, in particular development of novel biobased processes.MSc in Chemical Engineering, specialisations: environmental engineering and process technology, from University of Twente in the Netherlands (2001). PhD in Environmental Sciences from Wageningen University (2007), thesis “CO2 sequestration by mineral carbonation", in collaboration with the Energy research Centre of the Netherlands (ECN) and Delft University of Technology, both in The Netherlands.Currently employed at Cosun R&D working on the development of biobased processes for non-food and food applications, including biorefinery processes using residual biomass streams and crops. In addition, I am leading the expertise cente biorefinery within Cosun R&D, which is a knowledege platform and competence development centre. Finally, I work as special asociate professor at Wageningen University (1 day a week ) with a focus on biorefinery of agro-food residues.Coinventor of over 10 patent applications and (co)author of over 40 scientific publications.
