During my education at the University of Applied Sciences in Alkmaar, I developed a keen interest in the physics of the built environment. My focus was on acoustics, which was a natural fit given my background as a musician. After graduating from Inholland in Alkmaar, my initial plan was to find a job. However, upon further consideration, I decided to pursue further studies at the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) instead. This decision allowed me to deepen my knowledge in building physics and specifically, acoustics.Now, working for ACOUSTB, a French acoustic engineering consultancy with international ambitions we aim to acquire new knowledge and develop methods based on physics research and application. Our goal is to create sustainable, healthy, comfortable, and productive indoor and outdoor environments. We recognize that physical knowledge is essential throughout the lifecycle of a building or any built environment, from design to planning, construction, and maintenance. This is especially crucial given the rapidly changing requirements and continuous development of new materials and processes .Overall, my journey from music to acoustics has been rewarding, and I'm excited to continue exploring these fascinating aspects of building physics in my role as project manager in acoustics.
