Science Camp®, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting children’s interest in science through afterschool and summer programs. Since inception in 2010, more than five hundred children have benefited from the program. In April 2013, in celebration of Women’s History Month, Ms. Adebi was honored with a Proclamation by Camden County, New Jersey, for her role in cultivating children’s interest in science. Ms. Adebi holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from State University of New York at Old Westbury. Her advocacy for building a strong foundation for children in science dates back to her college days. As a young Chemist, she spent her afternoons tutoring children in science and math at the Princeton YMCA. This experience exposed her to the many challenges our children face in their efforts to learn science. It challenged her to seek out avenues to enable more children to excel in science, technology, engineering, and math. In 2001, Ms. Adebi completed a master’s degree in Technology Management at Stevens Institute of Technology. She subsequently resigned her job with Pfizer (formerly Wyeth Pharmaceuticals) and began to pursue, full time, her passion of helping every child embrace science. Ms. Adebi is an active member of the Green Team, a team focused on building a greener, healthier environment in Gloucester Township. She serves as an advisor on the Camden County Women’s Health Conference Committee, the group responsible for organizing an annual conference focused on promoting the health and wellbeing of families. Ms. Adebi constantly seeks and welcomes opportunities to cultivate children’s interest in STEM. Show less
