Running a new business unit built around the team that successfully co-designed and co-created the Ingenuity Mars helicopter in partnership with NASA JPL. Leading a team of Program Management and Engineers as we deliver the Sample Retrieval Helicopters as part of the Mars Sample Return program. Developing strategies, relationships, and programs to sustainably grow the business and to use helicopters and other flying vehicles to enable planetary exploration.

One of four founders of an award-winning non-profit program designed to improve racial equality in aerospace. To date, the Patti Grace Smith Fellowship has provided paid summer internships, cash grants, executive-level and near-peer mentorship, and a vibrant and supportive community to more than one hundred extraordinary Black undergraduates beginning their aerospace careers. I conceived the original program idea, identified co-founders, and worked with my three volunteer co-founders to create and manage the program, including developing partnerships across industry, government, and academia; recruiting students; coordinating programming; matching interns to available job openings; and providing mentorship to dozens of students.

To date, the Brooke Owens Fellowship has provided paid summer internships, cash grants, executive-level and near-peer mentorship, and a vibrant and supportive community to ~300 undergraduate women and non-binary students seeking leadership-track careers in aerospace. My co-founders and I created and managed the program, including developing partnerships across industry, government, and academia; recruiting students; coordinating programming; matching interns to available job openings; and providing mentorship to dozens of students. We have also fostered the development of five other non-profit aerospace workforce programs in three countries based on on our model.

Member of the strategic leadership team for Space Workforce 2030, helping chart the future of the nation’s largest and most comprehensive effort to inspire, prepare, and employ the aerospace workforce of tomorrow.

First employee at Sir Richard Branson’s small satellite launch company. Executive-level managerial roles have ranged from managing the initial technical feasibility and market fit studies for the LauncherOne program, to overseeing that program’s early sales and long-range technology development roadmap planning, to managing the company’s brand and culture, to coordinating permitting and global distribution of an experimental COVID-19 emergency ventilator, to serving on the company's strategic council. Identified and recruited key technical hires, including the program’s chief engineer. Played a critical role in obtaining hundreds of millions of dollars in investment and in taking the company public.

Assessed internal technology capabilities and evaluated external technological needs in the civil, national security, and commercial sectors. Developed new strategic directions and business lines for the company, including suborbital crewed and uncrewed research and small satellite launch. Secured new customers, identified and recruited key hires, and assisted with capital raises. Served as a primary corporate spokesperson with media, customers, investors, and the public, including co-managing crisis response communications. Provided program management for a variety of internal R&D projects.

Authored and managed the $30 million Google Lunar XPRIZE and the NASA-funded, $2 million Northrop Grumman Lunar Lander XCHALLENGE technology inducement prizes. Responsible for technology scouting and evaluation, guiding of policy and regulation, and proactive engagement with industry, academia, and government — with a particular focus on overlooked communities of technology innovators — to enable technology development and infusion. Developed and managed relationship with key stakeholders such as Google and NASA. Served as frequent Foundation spokesperson with media, VIPs, donors, and the general public. Ran strategic planning and research for future space technology inducement prizes and related activities.

Guided VIP, corporate, and philanthropic clients through flights on the world’s only commercial parabolic flight provider. Over one hour of cumulative reduced gravity (Martian, Lunar, and Zero Gravity) logged. Supported the historic Mission:AstroAccess crews of disability ambassadors both on the ground and in parabolic flight.

Developed the initial concept of the site and served as principle content developer and Editor in Chief for a early social network connecting a global community of aerospace professionals. Developed partnerships with universities and private companies. Negotiated buy-out offer.

Conducted industry analysis and risk management services, serving customers such as NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center, the Federal Aviation Administration, the Florida Spaceport Authority, and the Satellite Industry Association.

Conducted research on the use of satellites to provide low latency, high-bandwidth internet connectivity to impoverished and underserved communities. Established groundwork for the Information, Communication, and Space Technology division’s first space communications project, creating both internal and external strategies. Research conducted as part of Master's thesis.

Conducted, published, and presented research on geological features on the surface of Mars.

Conducted and published research on targeted RNA probes for methanotrophic bacteria.
